I needed a good chocolate chip cookie recipe. So, I "googled" it, found it, tested it, adjusted it (a lot), and made it. I believe I turned the "best chocolate chip cookies" into the best chocolate chip cookies...EVER.
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1 cup of white chocolate chunks (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
Mix together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Stir in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Add baking soda to batter along with salt. Stir in flour, chocolate chips. Drop by large spoonfuls onto lightly greased pans.
Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned. Take the cookies out a tiny bit before you think they are done, this way they are soft and gooey!
Tip: I doubled the recipe in the photos and only used one bag of chocolate chunks!! If you plan to double the recipe, buy 2 bags of chocolate :)
